Our English for Speakers of Other Languages courses don’t just take place in the classroom - you can also enjoy field trips which will allow you to put your new skills into practice.

Interviews for ESOL 16-18 courses are held every Friday at the Chadwell Heath Campus for immediate enrolment. Come in at 10:30am and go to reception for more information.

DISCOVER YOUR POTENTIAL WITH ENGLISH
English skills will help get you where you want to go. Whether it's applying for jobs or further education, language skills are the key to your success.
The order of progression in ESOL begins with Reception for complete beginners, moving on to Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Once you have passed your Level 1 ESOL exams you can progress to a mainstream vocational course or into employment.
We hold open assessments every Friday at 10:30am during term-time, where you will be assessed to find out what level is right for you, and enrol if there are available places.
Anastasija Koriakovskaja studied at Silver Level and has now enrolled on a Level 2 Science Course after passing Level 1 Vocational Skills Numeracy, Level 1 Functional Skills English and a vocational qualification in her part time job which she did concurrently with her ESOL course.
Marian Danciu studied Foundation learning and has now progressed onto Compass Studies in Design and Media where he can develop his creative arts interests.
Denilson Freitas studied at Gold Level and was able to progress to a Level 3 Media Course. He was able to develop his interest in media by creating a video for the ESOL department.
Julia Mizera studied at Gold Level and has now gone onto a 6th form college to do her A-Levels.
TWO CONVENIENT LOCATIONS
Courses for 16- to 18-year-old students are held at our Chadwell Heath Campus. Courses for students aged 19+ are held at the Ilford Skills Academy in Ilford Town Centre. Both campuses are easily accessible by public transport or car. Download a free prospectus to learn more!
HI-TECH LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
The iZone is a new flexible learning centre of the college, equipped with technology suites and a video booth, where students and staff can experience technology-enhanced learning using touch-enabled PCs, Apple iPods and iPads, or Microsoft Surface tablets, as well as Apple TVs and large touch-screens.
Each of the five suites provides a flexible approach to learning, offering a choice of furniture layouts which can be adapted to suit specific teaching and learning styles, or mirror professional and business environments.
The iZone is also the home of the e-Learning Team, where an expert team of learning technologists and technology specialists provide support, guidance and advice to the curriculum teams and students on how to use technology in the classroom effectively.
Students and staff can book a learning suite or the video booth by either using one of the wall-mounted touch-screens or online.
THE BROOK CENTRE
The Brook Centre is a modern learning resource with laptops, iPads and Kindles that you can borrow to help your studies.
